TFP is a full service cylinder head and manifold research and development facility. We are one of the most diverse companies in the business. We have worked with a wide variety of cylinder heads, from Peugot road race programs, to Ford Escorts, to oval track Chevrolets and V6 Buicks and drag racing Top Fuel Hemis.
Our experience is not limited to racing programs. We have been called upon by the Big Three to perform development work on passenger car programs. In some regards, race engines are easier to work with than a passenger car engine. A race engine typically has an open exhaust system, or a racing muffler at most, and fresh air directed to the induction system without restriction. Passenger car engines are restricted by hot, under-hood air for the induction system and a restrictive exhaust system with a catalytic converter. In 1992, we helped GM with the development of the Quad 4 Olds for production passenger cars. The exhaust port we developed ended up on 1994-1996 2.3 & 2.5 liter Oldsmobiles. |
